Board Position and Descriptions .....
President: West Campus (must currently be in Nursing II)
Represents Valencia Nursing Student Association at all local, state, and national events. Serves as Chairperson and presides over all VNSA meetings. Develops agenda and presents business to nursing student body. Informs board members and advisors of all meeting times, dates, and location. Speaks at conferences, meetings, and ceremonies. Conducts at least one board meeting a month. Conducts at least two VNSA student body meetings per semester.
1st Vice President: West Campus
The First Vice President is responsible for fulfilling all presidential duties when he/she is unable to attend. Secondly they are responsible for coordinating speakers or organizations to present at VNSA meetings. In addition they are responsible for amending and keeping the bylaws current in order to submit them to the NSNA and the FNSA. Lastly the Vice President is to assist the President with delegating and participating in all aspects of the organization including meetings, merchandise, membership, and serving the Valencia Nursing Student body.
2nd Vice President: Osceola Campus
The Second Vice President is responsible for fulfilling all presidential duties for Osceola campus when he/she is unable to attend. Treasurer is responsible to maintain financial records of VNSA. Tresurer must submit monthly report to faculty/advisors about financial status. Responsible for working closely with Student Development coordinator to submit cash, checks, etc.
2nd Treasurer: Osceola Campus
[Same duties at 1st Treasurer] Treasurer is responsible to maintain financial records of VNSA. Tresurer must submit monthly report to faculty/advisors about financial status. Responsible for working closely with Student Development coordinator to submit cash, checks, etc.
Secretary: West Campus
Record meeting minutes and submit to historian(s) / website coordinator to be posted. Maintain all VNSA records and record accomplishments and events of VNSA. Correspond with VNSA regarding all necessary information and paperwork required for State and National conventions (works closely with faculty/advisors). Attend Inter Club Council Meetings and report all events and activities of VNSA.
Public Relations Positions
[see below]Membership: West and Osceola Campus (1 position per campus)
Serves as chairman of Public Relations committee. Coordinates the membership recruitment of the student body by utilizing the Project In Touch resources provided by NSNA. Communicates the benefits & purposes of the organization to new nursing students. Accountable to the membership records for VNSA. Provides applications, fees, and coordinates with student development coordinator to ensure all applications and fees are submitted.
Historian: West and Osceola Campus (1 position per campus)
Document the VNSA history by attending activities and volunteer events while taking pictures to be used for our group page or scrapbook. Organize the VNSA atlas group page by managing pictures posting announcements and group news, updating the website links, and granting new membership requests into the VNSA group for access.
Website Coordinator (Will work closely with Historian) ---Can be one person either from West or Osceola campus.
Responsible for working with faculty/advisors to maintain VNSA website updated. Works with Historian to communicate relevant information necessary for the VNSA website and atlas group. Must have at least some knowledge in web design.
Merchandise: West and Osceloa(1 position per campus)
Maintain inventory and meet with vendor to place additional merchandise orders. Provide regular hour(s) for nursing student/VNSA members to purchase items from VNSA store
All Board Members
- Represent Valencia Nursing Student Association at all times
- Attend all board and VNSA student body meetings
- Commit hours to sell merchandise as assigned
- Assists with all Nursing Student Orientations
- Participate and respresent Valencia Nursing Student Association at state and national conventions.
