VNSA Holiday Party & Elections
When:Thursday, December 7 from 1- 3 p.m.
Where: We are currently in the process of looking for a vacant area but I will post once we know where.
What about it? We will be having three things going on:
1. Elections
2. Food! (probably pizza, holiday cookies, and sodas)
3. Decorate A Tree (more info. below)
"VNSA Sentimental Tree"
For this upcoming holiday VNSA is taking part in donating holiday ornaments to a charity called Mustard Seed.
The mission of the Mustard Seed is to provide household goods, furniture, clothing, toys and books to those who have suffered from natural or personal disaster [More information about Mustard Seed Click Here].
Basically you can help us out by donating an ornament that reminds you of something in the past or one that holds some kind of meaning to you. Our "Sentimental Tree" will be located [hold that thought....we're waiting to hear from Mrs. Stone where we are allowed to place it].
You can purchase an ornament anywhere that doesn't require you to spend a lot of money on. Preferably one that is plastic or wooden (or in other words unbreakable).
Art/Craft Supply Donations
Mrs. Fickely, one of our Nursing Professor here at Valencia has asked for our help in donating some supplies to help with social activities of Mentally Ill patients at Lakeside Alternative. These items are used as an alternative means to express feelings and thoughts when interacting with other patients. Items at can be new or used would include:
- construction paper
- crayons
- markers (non-permanent)
- foam flat sheets
- foam shapes,letters, cut-outs
- games (new or used)
- Elmers (non-toxic)
- any board or card gam that has all the pieces
- socks (for either / or men and women sizes)
- small boxes of raisins
You may drop your supplies off in the HSB Nursing Office or if you wish to just donate $1.00 to help out (give to the front desk inside an evelope written as "Donation c/o Mrs. Fickely"). The deadline to drop off your supplies will be Monday, December 11. Thanks!
