The Brain Bowl Coaches
Chris Borglum is an English
Professor at the Winter Park Campus who has coached Valencia's Brain
Bowl team since he arrived at the college in 1994. He played College
Bowl at the University of Florida for six years and continues to be
active in masters' tournaments (at which people no longer in college
can play). He believes that Brain Bowl is a competition which celebrates
the college's highest ambitions: a love of learning and a desire for
increased knowledge. He is a rabid sports fan who loves the Gators and
the Magic. He can be reached at (407) 299-5000 ext. 6869 or at cborglum@valencia.cc.fl.us
Lois McNamara is a Humanities
Professor at the West Campus. She earned degrees from Lawrence University
of Wisconsin and Rollins College, doing additional study at the University
of Florida and UCF. She has been teaching since 1965 with a four-year
break for graduate work and full-time mothering. Her interest in Brain
Bowl results naturally from two daughters who were both Brain Bowl players.
She loves to read, play the piano, garden, and travel to exotic places.
She can be reached at (407) 299-5000 ext. 1437.
