About the Brain Bowl
Brain Bowl is an academic trivia competition
pitting teams of four against one another. Players use a buzzer system
to ring in and answer questions in four main subject areas: math, natural
science, social science, and humanities. It is a fast-paced fun game
appealing to anyone who likes playing Trivial Pursuit or who enjoys
watching television programs like Jeopardy and Who Wants to
Be a Millionaire.
The Brain Bowl team offers Full Tuition Scholarships
to students who play for the team. You don't have to know a whole lot
when you come in; you just have to like to play and want to learn and
improve.
The team practices on West Campus in Room 236 in the
Student Services Building on Mondays and Wednesdays in the fall and
spring semesters from 1 to 4 p.m. Students who travel to the West campus
from other campuses will be reimbursed for mileage and for tolls.
Valencia's Brain Bowl program is consistently one
of the best , not only in the state of Florida, but in the entire Southeast.
This is due to the quality of students who play for the team and their
love of the game. If you're not already on the team, stop by a practice
to see what we're all about. We'd love to have you join us and help
us win more championships for Valencia. In the meantime, check out the
sample questions on this site.
